Automization in Germany as a production location
German companies are already relying on automated production processes these days. This is revealed by an international comparison of robot density in production companies, in which Germany ranks 3rd with 397 installed robots per 10,000 employees (source: IFR, World Robotics Report 2022). The leader is South Korea, with no less than 1,000 installed robots per 10,000 employees. This is all the more impressive when you consider that the East Asian country has had one of the lowest birth rates in the world for years. There is enormous potential for German companies. Particularly in view of the ongoing shortage of skilled workers in Germany, South Korea can certainly serve as a model for future developments in automization.
In discussions with our customers, we notice that, above all, the correct process-related integration of robotics and automization can lead to a significant reduction in process costs. A key success factor here is not to see automization as an end in itself, but to plan economic efficiency and process integration holistically. Only in this way can the enormous potential offered by robotics and automization be optimally exploited.
