Innovative production concept for scalable growth

The company faced the challenge of expanding its production capacity to better capitalize on the market potential for shipbuilding components. Until then, production processes had been organized on a workshop basis, which made scalable growth difficult. Therefore, the goal of the project was to develop a production concept that would enable continuous and sustainable growth while also addressing the shortage of specialist experts.

The project started with an analysis of the existing production process. Based on this analysis, a target production process for scalable manufacturing was designed and translated into a floor plan that efficiently utilizes existing capacities and resources in a block layout. In addition, our planning experts designed the warehouses and intralogistics systems and oversaw the integration of a new, production-adjacent main warehouse from planning through implementation.

Throughout the planning process, our team utilized 2D and 3D visualizations as well as 360-degree photos and video recordings. These tools not only enabled digital walkthroughs and precise before-and-after comparisons but also facilitated communication within the project team and ensured planning reliability throughout the entire project. The new production concept will be implemented in phases during ongoing operations.
