New corporate architecture through revitalization
HARTMANN AG, Heidenheim, Germany
In order to continue producing medical products of the highest standard, HARTMANN planned to revitalize its clean rooms and adjacent office space. The premises were to be brought up to modern standards and provide employees with an optimal workplace. Dr. Schönheit + Partner was involved in this project as a holistic planner, from the initial analysis to the awarding of contracts, and supported the project in both factory planning and project management.
The objective of the revitalization was to optimize existing structures and tailor working conditions to the requirements of the final products. The primary focus was on cleanroom production and the associated administrative areas. In addition to interior improvements, HARTMANN placed great importance on a modern external presentation that aligns with the company's identity. The main façade facing the street was designed to reflect the interior modernization and project it outward.
As part of the factory planning process, a detailed analysis of the existing structures was conducted. Material and personnel flows were recorded, logistics processes defined, and warehouse and product availability planned for the future. At the same time, the object planning translated these findings into modern office and working environments that complement and optimize the existing plant. The coordination and control of all project participants was in the hands of the project steering team.
The new structures are defined by a high level of transparency. Each workstation has a direct connection to the exterior, allowing natural light to illuminate all rooms. Additionally, internal windows enhance openness and create a seamless connection between different areas. This transparency is also evident on the outside: the main façade facing the street serves as a representative showcase for HARTMANN. With clean lines and a precise color scheme, it reflects the innovative strength of the products.
The comprehensive planning of the revitalization was supported by the involvement of various specialist disciplines – including technical building equipment, building physics requirements, structural design and fire protection.
