Precision work inside – Visibility outside
GRW - Gebr. Reinfurt GmbH & Co. KG, Würzburg, Germany
The master plan “Future Value Factory” designed by Dr. Schönheit + Partner was submitted for building approval as a single cohesive structure. Due to the building’s limited height, innovative solutions were implemented to achieve optimal floor spacing with natural lighting and ventilation.
The focus of the approval planning was primarily on fire protection. Due to the medium terrain elevation, some floors are formally classified as basement levels with different requirements. In close coordination with the fire safety consultant and the city of Würzburg, innovative concepts were developed that did not compromise the design. The open parking garage for example combines functionality with aesthetic and formal requirements.
The design and approval planning of the "Future Value Factory" was developed in close collaboration between all involved disciplines. In addition to the team from Dr. Schönheit + Partner, specialized in architecture, factory planning, and project steering, technical building services engineers, fire protection experts, building physicists, and structural engineers worked together to align the requirements and individual constructions of the different buildings.
The result is a composition of simple, clear building forms connected by transparent joints. The production of the ball bearings is made visible through a circular perforation in the façade on the lower floors, while large window bands ensure the desired lighting for the modern workplaces.
GRW is a globally leading manufacturer and supplier of miniature ball bearings. One of the company's key goals is to fully satisfy its customers. Therefore, GRW offers not only standard ball bearings, but also custom solutions tailored specifically to the needs of its customers.
