Value Factory
LAUDA Dr. R. Wobser GmbH & Co. KG, Lauda-Königshofen, Germany
At the Lauda-Königshofen site, a state-of-the-art production hall with an integrated logistics center was built, the so-called Value Factory. Dr. Schönheit + Partner was responsible for the holistic planning, from process optimization to factory planning and architecture. The built-up area covered 4,400 m², the investment volume amounted to EUR 9 million, of which EUR 7.5 million was for the construction.
The challenge was to comprehensively restructure the production and logistics processes as well as their structural implementation. In addition to the optimization of material flows, assembly and production processes, a holistic logistics plan was developed for the new and existing buildings. The aim was to increase efficiency through optimized processes and short distances as well as to ensure product availability. The planning reflected the future growth of the company and enabled a flexible production ramp-up.
The planning process followed the proven S + P philosophy “from the inside out”. Following the basic assessment and preparation of the master plan, the design and approval planning followed. The implementation planning, tendering and awarding of contracts were carried out by a local architect, with an accompanying review by Dr. Schönheit + Partner. In service phases 8 and 9, Dr. Schönheit + Partner took over the client's representation and overall construction management. The façade design integrates modern industrial elements, while the building structure was geared towards optimized material flows and energy-efficient processes.
