About six months after the groundbreaking ceremony, we are delighted to mark the next milestone in this special project: the topping-out ceremony for the first zero-emission bus depot in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, which we celebrated on September 4, 2026, together with the team from the project owner, KRN Kommunalverkehr Rhein-Nahe GmbH, and other project participants.
The high degree of prefabrication of the components has been particularly instrumental in the construction’s progress. By using cost-effective, industrially manufactured building elements, we are creating a building that is designed to be efficient, robust, and sustainable – while also meeting the requirements of a modern bus depot.
With the construction of this new electric bus depot at the Wörrstadt site, KRN is setting the course for a sustainable future. The multi-use concept – featuring electric charging infrastructure, parking spaces, a workshop, a car wash, administrative offices, and more – uniquely combines sustainable mobility with future-oriented use. In total, the 13,500 m² site is planned to accommodate 60 electric buses and 120 employees.
