We are delighted to be able to count another special project among our references: the sustainable “bordbar MANUFAKTUR” of bordbar design GmbH. With the construction of this new building in Cologne, Germany, the furniture and design company is not only expanding its production and logistics capacities, but also setting new standards for reducing its carbon footprint:
A full 70% of the primary energy requirement is already covered by renewable energies (e.g. heat pumps). The building even exceeds the requirements for the EH55 EE efficiency house standard (efficiency house 55 renewable energy class) and received funding from Kfw Bank, one of the world’s leading promotional banks. This made the project financially viable even for a relatively young company.
We supported bordbar from the factory structure planning through to the implementation of the new production hall and logistics with connected production-related administration. The architectural language that we implemented reflects the high design standards that bordbar also has for its own products. A result that can be seen in the truest sense of the word!
